Al Dimashqi Restaurant - مطعم الدمشقي
About This Spot
Stepping into Al Dimashqi Restaurant on Airport Road feels like walking into a warm embrace from old Damascus. The pace here is unhurried and inviting, a comfortable shelter from the busy pulse of Abu Dhabi. Soft conversations mingle with the occasional clink of tea glasses, while the aroma of fresh bread and spices fills the air, setting a mood that’s both familiar and pleasantly new.
It’s the kind of place where time seems to stretch gently—where families gather to share plates, friends linger over cups of strong coffee, and the staff greet each visitor as though welcoming a guest into their own home. The interior, simple yet thoughtful, encourages a relaxed experience; the steady hum upstairs offers a quieter nook to savor the flavors and moments unfolding.
Food here isn’t just fuel; it’s a passage to memory and tradition. Whether it’s the comforting warmth of freshly baked bread, the savory tenderness of grilled meats wrapped in soft flatbreads, or the subtle harmony of seasoned dips and salads, each bite carries stories of the Levant. And there’s something quietly joyful about the way dishes arrive—fresh, generous, and ready to be shared amidst genuine smiles.
At Al Dimashqi, there’s an honest sense of hospitality that resonates beyond the palate. It’s found in the nods of familiar recognition, the casual conversations, and the little touches—a steaming glass of tea brought as a courtesy, a welcoming smile from the kitchen staff. These moments unfold naturally, making you feel not just like a customer, but a part of a continuing story rooted in culture and connection.
For anyone curious to explore Middle Eastern flavors beyond the expected, this neighborhood gem offers a quietly memorable experience. It’s a place where food and atmosphere come together to invite you in, linger a little longer, and leave with a warmhearted sense of having been somewhere truly genuine.

Amazing food service and hospitality!! We had the Shawarma and the falafel mankish and it was so good, they also gave us tea and coffee that were delicious! Such a nice experience, you won’t regret!

Authentic Syrian restaurant. The food was so amazing. Served fresh and hot, the mixed grill, shawarmas and grilled chicken were out of this world. Their signature fries are also a must have. Great service with very welcoming and friendly staff. Highly recommended

Great food. The free bread was so nice, my 2 year old ate like 3 of those. The chicken shawarma reminded me of my Texas days. My wife also loved it. Very affordable prices. Lovely ambience.

The best food I ate in UAE so far! Servers were super friendly and I enjoyed the upstairs seating. Definitely try not to over order! The mixed grill Dimashqi is the way to go!!! The lamb was the best I've ever tasted. Very tender. Comes with everything, even humus and others. It's too easy to over order! Ouzi one piece was also a great treat! Definitely would come back here again and again!!!

I often go to this great Manakeesh place, but I tried a different dish, and it was also really good.

Just had the most amazing Middle Eastern takeout! Got their manakish (these awesome flatbreads) - one with meat and cheese mixed together and another one meat only. Both were totally loaded with toppings and so good! The broasted chicken was spot on, and the grape leaves were perfectly done. What really made my day was how they threw in a free lentil soup - such a nice touch! Plus, they didn't skimp on the side dishes at all. Everything came packed really well - no mess, no fuss. The whole meal was super fresh and tasted homemade. These folks definitely know their stuff when it comes to Middle Eastern food. If you're craving some legit Middle Eastern food, you've got to try this place. They're super generous with their portions, and everything just hits the spot. 10/10 would order again!

Every time we visit this restaurant, it’s a fantastic experience! The shawarma is absolutely delicious — juicy, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. We’ve tried almost everything on the menu, from the chicken dishes to the sides, and every bite is consistently fresh and satisfying. The service is outstanding, especially from Abu Nasser. He always greets us with a warm smile and makes us feel like family. He truly goes above and beyond to make sure we’re happy and comfortable, and his hospitality is unmatched. If you’re looking for amazing food and top-notch service, this is the place to be. Highly recommended!
